Privacy policy for Autofeed

Autofeed is a private household app. It controls one family's pet feeder, water fountain and air purifier, and it was built for that household alone.

Signing in

You sign in with a password the household shares, not with a personal account. The app talks only to the household's own server, a self-hosted Home Assistant on the family's private network. I built the app and I live in that household, so I am one of the people using it.

What is stored, and where

Events from the equipment are stored on the household's own server: feedings, weight and water level. None of it is passed on to any other service.

No analytics, no third-party services

The app has no analytics, no advertising, and no services from other companies built into it.

Demo mode

Demo mode shows made-up example data and makes no network calls at all.

Notifications

Notifications are delivered through Apple's APNs. The only thing sent along is the notification text itself.
